Vocational education is preparation for skilled jobs, that is preparation based on manual and practical activities. The learner directly participates and develops expertise in a particular set of techniques or technology and is sometimes referred to as technical education.
In the Philippines, vocational/technical schools and their curricula are accredited and accredited by the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA). TESDA schools offer a short course of 3 months and 2 years. Upon graduation, students take a licensing exam from TESDA to obtain a certificate or diploma.
